Shia means Sand in the Ga language.

The Shia cardigan is a top down raglan designed with 12-15cm (4.5inch - 6 inch) of positive ease.

The pattern construction includes a staggered start - this means you’ll begin with casting on the stitches needed for the raglan but then rapidly increase the front stitches to create the neckline, whilst working raglan increases. Once the neckline has been established you’ll continue to work the raglan increases and the Shifting Sands cable pattern on the fronts of the cardigan. Once the yoke is complete, you’ll separate the body and the sleeves. You will then work the body, followed by the sleeves. Once you have finished the body and the sleeves you will pick up stitches to create the neckline ribbing in a 2x2 rib. Lastly you’ll pick up stitches along the two fronts of your cardigan to create the button band.

The pattern has written instructions, cable charts and tables.

Sizes

1(2,3,4,5)[6,7,8,9]

Finished Bust sizes in cm & inches

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)[6, 7, 8, 9]
90.5 (97.5, 109.5, 119.5, 129.5)[139.5, 149.5, 160.5, 168.5]cm
36.25 (39, 43.75, 47.75, 51.75)[55.75, 59.75, 64.25, 67.5]in

Please refer to full schematic in the pictures.

Ease: This pattern has been graded with approximately 12-15cm (4½-6in) of positive ease.
